Antique Edwardian "Dog Collar" Diamond Choker Necklace
An understated elegant Edwardian "dog collar" on a silk ribbon, measuring 16.4mm in height and 22.3mm in width, there is gentle curve to follow the neck. The centre piece has rose cut diamonds throughout, estimated to weigh a total of 0.15ct, set in platinum to a gold mount. The black silk ribbon choker can be worn at 13 inches to 15 inches due to its velcro fitting. Queen Alexandra made dog collar necklaces or "collier de chien" fashionable in this period, its believed she wore them to hide a scar on her neck.
