This gentleman's antique tie pin features a buff top amethyst set within four old mine cut diamonds, all to a yellow gold mount and pin. The amethyst may have been swapped over within this piece of jewellery's lifetime as the amethyst is faceted underneath, a method that has been in practice in the last 25 years, however it makes the amethyst play with the light wonderfully. The old mine cut diamonds are original and are cut in the typical way of that period. Not hallmarked but tests as gold.
